On May 26, 2010 Suzannah Etscheid and her husband were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Jaxon Edward. Four months and four days later, they lost him to SIDS. As Suzannah’s therapy, a friend got her running. So, after 3 years, she and her husband decided to organize a 5k race in memory of their Jaxon. The first 5K race took place at Skydive Chicago on May 31, 2014. It was a huge hit and many came from all over to support the Etscheid family and their cause. In the past two years the event has raised almost $20,000. Now the event is in it’s 3rd year and here we are again, in hopes to raise awareness for SIDS and commemorate the life of their little boy and the many children that pass away each year from SIDS.
