Load Organizers, Teams & Development Programs
Never experience a boring skydive!!! The joy of skydiving comes from jumping with your friends! We recognize that as a young jumper with limited skills, it can be a challenge to jump with other more advanced skydivers – we won’t let that happen here! Between our load organizers, teams and development programs, there’s no reason not to advance your skills and jump numbers while having a great time jumping with others!
SDC Rhythm XP is a 4-way RW team dedicated to becoming the top team in the world and helping other skydivers develop their skills and grow their love of the sport. In 2014 they placed 2nd at the USPA National Skydiving Championships and 3rd at the Dubai International Parachuting Championships. You can further review their achievements via their website. Rhythm offers wind tunnel coaching and workshops, player coach team training, and team coaching. Catch them all season long at Skydive Chicago. They will be organizing at Summerfest 2016.
Expanding upon our popular ‘A’ License Club we have created the 8N2 Club. Identifying a need for jumpers with 100-300 jumps to be challenged, the club is focused on intermediate to semi-advanced dives, both RW and FF. Each club ‘meeting’ will have dedicated organizers, aiming to do 5-6 jumps per day, working with 4-6 way belly groups and 3 way FF groups. To jump with a FF organizer you must be able to hold a sit and/or head down position, STABLE. There is no registration fee, just pay your jump ticket!
SDC Core is a 4-way VFS team comprised of former SDNexus members Jason Russell and Stephanie Strange, with the addition of Dusty Hanks, Kai Kai Buchholz, and Jake Jensen. The team boasts numerous achievements in the sport, including placing 1st in Open VFS at the 2015 USPA National Skydiving Championships and 1st in VFS at the indoor Wind Games 2016. SDC Core will be representing the US in 4-way VFS at the 2016 World Parachuting Championships. Their busy schedule is packed with training camps both in the tunnel and sky. Core will be offering tunnel coaching and team coaching throughout 2016, check out their Facebook page for more information.
‘A’ License Club is a unique opportunity to ease yourself into the sport of skydiving. We understand that the hangar can be daunting and the idea of approaching others to jump is sometimes not as easy as it seems. Skydive Chicago will be hosting ‘A’ License Club weekends throughout the season. Lead by local organizers, days will be filled with briefings, dirt dives and jumps of different technique; there will be goofy dives to mix it up! We invite jumpers from all drop zones to partake. Following the first day, join us for a brief seminar on topics that cover gear, canopy, exits, safety, competitive skydiving, formation skydiving and more! We have our famous Tiki bar tended by the lovely Lisa to enjoy dinner and drinks after.
A challenge based system aimed at improving overall freefly skills. A skydiver’s myth buster! Each month, a group of 10 flyers will be given a set of dives to engineer and successfully complete. This team environment will be led by World Champion and DZO Rook Nelson. Rook will challenge the group with technical jumps pushing everyone’s skill level. A challenge might be, “Is it possible to perform 10 points without everyone taking the same grip?” Another might be, “Is it possible to fly a 3-way round through a 7-way round?” Rook will look to the group to come up with challenges of there own as well. There is NO registration for this event but you must email firstname.lastname@example.org to be put on the ‘list’. To participate in 10 Spot you must be able to take docks on your head and while sit flying.
