Rookiefest 2024
This is the Nationals for beginning skydivers! All rookie skydivers from any dropzone are welcome to participate in this 3-way scrambles style competition.
Teams change each round based on a random draw, but will always include one experienced ‘coach’ (members from SDC Rhythm XP, SDC Core, SDC MatriX and more!). Amazing prizes are awarded to the top three individuals.
The winner will take home a Rookiefest Trophy that will give the DZ bragging rights that they produce the best students!
We invite jumpers from all dropzones to participate. At the end of the first day join us for a brief seminar on topics that cover gear, canopy, exits, safety, competitive skydiving, formation skydiving and more! In the evening come to our famous Tiki bar to enjoy dinner and drinks.
Rookie skydivers can participate in up to two Rookiefest Competitions, provided they meet either of these criteria:
• Less than 200 total jumps OR
• Less than 2 years in the sport as a Rookie
• Less than 200 total jumps OR
• Less than 2 years in the sport as a Rookie

This year we are super stoked for the event to overlap with the International Skydiver Hall of Fame Celebration, so come meet the legends of our sport.

- All Day: Doug Barron Load Organizing at SDC (no cost or registration)!
- All Day: Check-in/registration will be open for waivers, gear checks, etc
- All Day: International Skydiving Hall of Fame Celebration at Skydive Chicago!
- Rookie Sport Accuracy Contest organized with the Hall of Fame! (more info coming soon)

Sat 9/28
- 7am: Manifest opens, dropzone check-in must be completed prior to briefing so if you are able to do Friday please do!
- 8am: Welcome and Briefing in the Auditorium
- 9am: Jumping Begins!
- Saturday night social with the load organizers!
Sun 9/29
- 8am: Competition jumps resume
- 2pm: Jumping will end to allow time for awards and travel home (if the competition has not ended before now)
- Awards Ceremony immediately following competition

Gear rental is $225 if reserved during registration. This includes all five Rookiefest jumps and a pack job for each jump.
If we do not complete all five rounds for the event, you are eligible for a refund of $45 for each jump not completed.
